I keep track of what’s coming, so the rest of the house doesn’t have to.

I’m Erica O’Connor.

Former director-level product manager, current default parent.

I spent over 15 years turning chaos into roadmaps for product teams at startups and big brands. Now I’m raising a preschooler and a toddler near Cape Cod, running a household on the same systems thinking, minus the sprint planning and the team.

For years my job was making complicated things feel simple: figuring out what helps a person, then building the thing that delivers it. Motherhood turned out to be the same problem with higher stakes and no roadmap handed to you.

So I built the thing I kept needing. Every month I do the seasonal digging, find the deadlines and prep that sneak up on the default parent, and send over the handful that matter, while there’s still time to do something about them. I thought ahead so you don’t have to.

Off the clock, I love a good book, warm weather, an iced coffee (yes, year-round), and my loud, lovable beagle who’s convinced he runs the house. I also have a Hashimoto’s diagnosis that taught me to build systems that don’t run on heroics, which is half the reason this thing exists.

Let’s keep in touch.

What inspired you to start this blog?

Becoming a mom showed me how heavy the mental load gets when you’re the one tracking everything for everyone. I started this to take part of that weight off other people’s plates.

How do you balance parenting with running a blog?

Family always comes first! That’s why I started my own business. I work during the “in-between” moments: naptime, early mornings, or after bedtime. I also use tech to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

What topics do you cover on your blog?

Seasonal prep, the deadlines nobody emails you about, and the systems that keep a household from running on memory alone.

What’s your background?

A computer science degree and an MBA, and I bring the same systems thinking to running a home that I brought to running product teams.

What’s one tool or tip you recommend for busy parents?

Notion is where I keep all of it: meal plans, routines, content, and the running list of things I’d otherwise forget by morning. The real MVP.
